NASDA, which was founded on 1 October 1969, had developed rockets, satellites, and also built the Japanese Experiment Module.
It develops experimental equipment for the Japanese Experiment Module ("Kibo").
It was positioned for most of its lifetime as one of the main Japanese contributions to the International Space Station, the other being the Japanese Experiment Module.
The facility was then successfully latched on to the Experiment Module.
The annual running costs for Japanese Experiment Module will total around $350 to 400 million.
