Mothering Sunday

If nothing else Mothering Sunday is a day to take stock.

Simnel cake is a traditional confection associated with both Mothering Sunday and Easter.

Children and church helpers spent Saturday afternoon making certain there were enough traditional Mothering Sunday posies to go round for mothers of all ages.

Mothering Sunday remains in the calendar of some Canadian Anglican churches, particularly those with strong English connections.

Services are held on special occasions such as Mothering Sunday, Remembrance Sunday and Christmas.
