The Wirral Railway (WR) acquired one of these locomotives from the L&YR in June 1921: no. 1041 became WR no. 6.

British Railways acquired three 8801/24/34 in 1948, but all were withdrawn by 1950 before they could receive their allocated numbers 48801/24/34.

The Central of Georgia Railway acquires control of the Savannah and Atlanta Railway (not yet Class I).

May 17 - Canadian Northern Railway acquires Canadian Northern Ontario Railway.

September 22 - Ottawa, Northern and Western Railway acquires the Pontiac and Pacific Junction Railway.
