The declaration said Nicaragua "is living through one of the worst, most profound crises in its history."
The declaration said that "each country has the sovereign responsibility to protect its citizens from natural disasters."
The declaration said the speakers had emphasized that leading the country out of the crisis "should be placed above everything else at this crucial time."
"We are committed to the United Nations remaining at the center of the international order," the declaration said.
"The children of the world are innocent, vulnerable and dependent," the declaration said.
The declaration says there must be a right of appeal, either directly or through an advocate, to a judicial tribunal.
Well, thats almost a declaration of love, somebody said.
"Genuine peace cannot be established solely by arms control," the declaration said.
This declaration said that the United Nations must continue to play a central role during and after the crisis.
The community's declaration said the 12 member countries would act individually to establish formal diplomatic relations.
