Porting Authorisation Code

Porting Authorisation Code, a unique identifier which telephone network providers issue to a customer so they can port their number to another network

In India Porting Authorisation Code is to be called as 'Unique Porting Code (UPC)'.

The customer wishing to port his/her number is required to contact the Donor to obtain a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC), which is then showed to the recipient network to proceed.

In the United Kingdom, Ofcom directs Telephone network provider, mobile phone providers and broadband service providers to provide number portability under the Porting Authorisation Code rules and Migration Authorisation Code code of practice respectively.
