Reed Buntings have increased from 6 to 87 pairs during the same period.
This bird is similar in size to a Reed Bunting.
It is similar in size to a Reed Bunting at about 16 cm long.
Females look a bit like our female reed buntings, having a streaked appearance all over.
Perhaps if reed buntings become common visitors to winter gardens it will help to boost the overall population.
Now it is probably extinct as a breeding bird in Shetland, and its place has been taken by the reed bunting.
