"From Watching to Versifying," a new look at the complete works of Sa'di, published in Tahghighat-e Eslami Journal.

The poem insists upon the need for genealogy to "preserve due class distinctions in Irish society, while the versifying of battle deeds guarantees immortal fame for the chieftains concerned."

I was disappointed by Dinitia Smith's survey of the American poetry scene ("The Poet Kings and the Versifying Rabble," Feb. 19).

This method of verse creation was certainly not Clark's invention: already in 1677 a John Peter had published a work, "Artificial Versifying, A New Way to Make Latin Verses".
