water of purification

Jesus, moreover, has attended a marriage feast (2:1-11) where he replaced the waters of purification with his own superb wine.

Rabban Johanan told him that when they sprinkled the water of purification on the unclean, the spirit of uncleanness fled.

And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: thou shall sprinkle them with the water of purification.

Part of the cleansing process would be washing the body and clothes, and the unclean person would need to be sprinkled with the water of purification.

And superior to that are living waters, which serve for the immersion of persons who have a running issue and for the sprinkling of persons with skin disease, and are valid for the preparation of the water of purification.
