In 2010, 50 students earned recognition from the College Board as "AP Scholars".
Of 3,400 students, 323 were AP Scholars in 2005.
In 2007, the school produced twenty five AP Scholars, and twenty nine in 2006.
The school has a large Advanced Placement program with numerous AP Scholars.

A total of 25 Covington Catholic students were named AP Scholars in 2010-2011.
