For the graduating class of 2016, students must demonstrate successful completion of secondary-level course work in Algebra I, Biology, Literature, and English Composition, in which the Keystone Exam serves as the final course exam.

By Pennsylvania School Board regulations, beginning with the class of 2017, public school students must demonstrate successful completion of secondary level course work in Algebra I, Biology, and English Literature by passing the Keystone Exams.

Students who score at a proficient or advanced level on the Keystone Exams for Algebra I, Biology, and Literature may be eligible to pursue alternative educational opportunities in their senior year.

Instead of being tested on math, reading, science, and writing, students are tested in Algebra I, Biology, and Literature.
