The Band has also had many members through the years participate in the 4A and 5A TMEA All-State Band.

In 2007, the Wando Band placed 25 people out of 170 in the All-State Band.

Music students also participate in district and state-wide festivals, including All-State Band and All-State Chorus.

The band has also had 12 consecutive UIL Sweepstakes and several members over the decade have placed in the All-State Band.

The Colony Band has placed over 100 wind and percussion students in All-State Band and Orchestra since 1986.

By the next year, I had improved enough to be first chair in the All-State Band, a position I won again as a senior, when Joe Newman won on drums.

Three students were selected to be in the All-State Band in 2006.

In the All-State Band Competition Maconaquah placed seventh in 1975, 12th in 1976, 17th in 1977, and fifth in 1978 and 1980.

He recently wrote "Reverberations" which was premiered at UGA Mid-fest in 2008 and he recently returned to Georgia to conduct the All-State Band, which concluded with a performance of his "Sun Cycles."

Willson worked on the Mississippi Lions All-State Band Staff five times including serving as head director in 1995 when the All-State Band won the international parade in Seoul, Korea.
