American military instructors have twice been forced to abandon a camp of anti-narcotics police by the protesters.
Currently most of the training is being undertaken by American and French instructors.
The 14 American instructors and several drug enforcement agents returned to the camp in the middle of last week.
"It indicates a tremendous amount of filtering and organization to get to that," an American military instructor said.
"This isn't for everybody," a senior American military instructor said.
One American instructor said a class had stopped following his lecture when he described how to use gravity to help slow a wounded soldier's bleeding.
The first flight with American instructors took place on 4 February 1956.
Classes are held throughout the year and are taught by both American and international instructors.
American instructors would also teach the African militaries how to coordinate planning and operations with each other.
Classes are taught by Soviet instructors, with an American instructor to ease the first difficult days.
