"The key to us is always going to be defense," Beard said.

Beard said something got into her eye during the race and that she simply aimed for the wall.

"Last year we would have lost that game," Beard said.

Beard said he wouldn't let the players drag him under water again.

"It was one hell of a win when you consider what we started with," Beard said.

"We're not going to have him to start the season, and we understand that," Beard said.

"For us to come back like that showed what these guys can do," Beard said.

"I feel good about the fact that they came out and did some things to stay in each ball game," Beard said.

"They happened to get it done in the last two minutes and we didn't," Beard said.

"I played pretty good golf the last two days," Beard said.
