Showdown is an alpine ski area located in the Little Belt Mountains in Central Montana, United States.

The eastern edge of this region is formed by the Giant's Belt Mountains, a range which separates the plains from the desert to the east.

It is located in the center of Little Belt Mountains.

The highway then climbs toward King's Hill, a major pass through the Little Belt Mountains.

The Belt Supergroup series of rocks, which are primarily Precambrian mudstones, were named after this mountain range and the adjacent Little Belt Mountains.

Monarch was founded in 1889 to service the various silver mines in the Little Belt Mountains of Cascade County.

Little of the zone is visible due to Phanerozoic cover, the exception being the Little Belt Mountains.
