Instead of investing in CCS technology, which is an uncertain venture, the emphasis ought to be on renewable energy sources.

However, a large part of the recovery plan involves investments in CCS technologies.

The investment required could be up to £1 billion, but if funding is secured, "pre-combustion" CCS technology would be installed.
