In 1967 he moved to Chelmsford City for a short spell before retiring.
He scored his first goal for the club just days later in a 3-2 victory over Chelmsford City.
After retiring from playing, he became manager of Chelmsford City in June 2001.
He was later a coach before becoming manager of Chelmsford City in the 1950s.
In his time as manager, Chelmsford City played 105 matches, of which 30 were won, 21 drawn and 54 lost.
After a break from the game, he signed for Chelmsford City on 1 August 2011.
He made his debut in a 2-0 victory over Chelmsford City, scoring the opening goal.
Later that year, he moved into non-league football with Chelmsford City.
He signed for Chelmsford City before the start of the 2011-12 season.
