The band was an immediate success and a number of American jazz musicians came to Paris to record with the ensemble, among them Coleman Hawkins, Benny Carter, Dicky Wells and the violinist Eddie South.

Unfortunately, most of his bands were not recorded, but a Snowden band that included Eldridge, Al Sears, Dicky Wells and Sid Catlett appeared in a 1932 film, Smash Your Baggage.

He also recorded with Dicky Wells and Ethel Waters in 1946.

The concert featured Howard McGhee, Joe Albany, Buddy Anderson, Dicky Wells, Eddie Bert, Herb Ellis and Mel Lewis among others.

When Eddie Durham left for Glenn Miller's orchestra, he was replaced by Dicky Wells.
