The big surprise is Don Nice, whose inspiration is still a structure with pigeon holes containing squirrels, fish and, no doubt, pigeons, too.

Participating will be three artists whose work appears in the show: Don Nice, Ilona Granet and Donald Moffett.

Don Nice's watercolor on paper, "Hudson Highlands" (2000), on the other hand, takes a quick read of the Hudson River from a boat.

Don Nice will whet your appetite for watercolors, and you can make books the artistic way with Phyllis Peckar Clamage.

Don Nice, Catherine McCarthy and Rick Shaefer, the other artists, also contribute unusual viewpoints.

This is sustained by the contemporary color photographs of Steve Stanne but not by the watercolors of Don Nice, which would have been better left in the artist's own show.

Also in the exhibition are paintings by Don Nice, who lives in Garrison, N.Y.

Don Nice uses a novel material, anodized aluminum, for his landscape vignettes, which he calls earthscapes, and which recall the glory days of the Hudson River School.
