Approaching town, the route roughly follows the line of the now derelict Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway.

Operated jointly by the lessees, the line became known as the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway.

It was on the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway, which is now disused.

The dismantled Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway passes through the village over a viaduct.
