Logging branches extended 8 miles up the Eel River by 1902.

It now comes from a spring west of town, across the Eel River.

On the south end of town is a public access site onto the Eel River.

Every single stream gage on the Eel River was destroyed.

Because of its shallow elevation and proximity to the Eel River, the town still has problems with flooding.

I've been going to Eel River every year since they opened, but not in February!
