Individuals and companies who are recognized by this award are chosen by the American Textile Hall of Fame Committee.
A nominee needs 75 percent (nine votes) of the votes cast by the 12 member Hall of Fame Committee to be elected.
The Hall of Fame Committee, meeting in April and again in December, found it necessary to again overhaul the election method.
Each year, inductees are selected through a nomination process by the Athletic Hall of Fame Committee and honored at a Fall induction ceremony.
Nominations that are received are then considered by the Walk of Fame Committee for induction into the Walk.
Prospective inductee names were first submitted by the general public in 2003, from which the Walk of Fame Committee selected an inaugural list of 10 inductees.
