The chairman of the landmarks commission, Gene A. Norman, rejected the assertion.
"I think 2 Columbus Circle should have a hearing," said Gene A. Norman, who served as chairman of the commission from 1983 to 1989.
The commission, meeting for the last time under the chairmanship of Gene A. Norman, took no final action on any of those matters.
