Genius playlists, movies, applications and all the complexities of iPhone syncing now clutter up the once clean and simple music player.
In addition to new iPods, Jobs also unveiled iTunes 9, which sports a number of refined syncing options and automatic Genius playlists.
For those who create Genius playlists often, the improvements to Genius playlist syncing and playing are sure to be welcome.
It works so good, in fact, that iTunes 9 can automatically build 12 Genius playlists from your library automatically.
This will result in 12 Genius playlists (see screen shot at top) organized loosely be genre.
Version 8.0 added Genius playlists, grid view, and a new default visualizer.
Genius playlists are created by the ratings system and collaborative filtering.
The resulting Genius playlist can contain 25, 50, 75, or 100 songs and can be refreshed for new results or saved.
And, of course, clicker-headphone support and Genius playlists don't hurt either.
The Genius feature finds the songs in your music library that go great together and makes a Genius playlist for you.
