Many sources comment on the relevance that Jesus had as a prophet to the Israelite people.

This episode follows the story of the Joshua as he leads the Israelite people back to the Promised Land.

Also depicted are some sunrays and, more to the left, a rainbow, symbols of the upcoming liberation for the Israelite people.

Those chapters deal with the holiness in the Tabernacle and the holiness of the Israelite people in general.

The chiastic structure points the reader to the central idea, that of the expected holiness (set-apartness) of the Israelite people in everything they do.

Understandably, the extent of the miracle takes some time to penetrate the minds of some of the Israelite people.
