The 8th (Service) Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment was established on 15 September 1914.

He was commissioned into the Lincolnshire Regiment and spent most of the war on active service.

During the campaign he was a temporary major, and a company commander in 6 Lincolnshire Regiment.

He immediately enlisted and on 19 November 1914 was commissioned a second lieutenant in an infantry unit, the Lincolnshire Regiment.

The uniforms of the old Lincolnshire Regiment were green with yellow facings.

Under his command the Commando joined the Lincolnshire Regiment in the final assault on the strongpoint and chateau.

He was commissioned into the Militia and then transferred to the Lincolnshire Regiment in 1888.

S. Bruce of the Lincolnshire Regiment was the first Commanding Officer.

As Lincoln's power station had not yet entered service, however, it had to be pumped manually by soldiers of the Lincolnshire Regiment.

A number of the players, including Hogan, became involved in a fight with soldiers from the Lincolnshire Regiment before throwing them from the train.
