With Linda Grey as publisher, Bantam moved into trade publishing as well.

"The overly big guarantee might put a lot of money in an author's and agent's pockets on a short-term basis," said Linda Grey, the president of Bantam Books.

"When you go into a project like this, you give it a great deal of thought," said Linda Grey, Bantam's publisher.
