In 1939 he became a General Staff Officer for 1st London Division of the Territorial Army.

The power station was transferred to the London Division of the British Electricity Authority in 1948.

The London Division was established on 10 November 1903 and held its first drill night at the Fishmongers' Hall.

It is believed that the headquarters of the division was formed by 2nd London Division.

In August 1915, the number 58 was allocated to the 2/1st London Division.

Regrettably a rather mixed performance in 1994/95 resulted in relegation to London Division 1.

From 1931 to 1934 he commanded the 56 (1st London) Division, Territorial Army.

The North won the Divisional Title in 1986, 1987 and 1992 they were runners up to London Division in 1989 & 1990.

The first T.F. formation to be plundered in this way was the 1st London Division.
