Ferb's name was derived from that of a mutual friend of Povenmire and Marsh named Frank, who "owns more tools than anyone [they] know."
Marsh named three species of his new genus in 1877, two of which are today known to be dinosaurian:
Marsh named this partial jaw Trachodon longiceps.
In 1889 Marsh named a second species of Ceratops: Ceratops horridus.
Marsh named this group Sauropoda, or "lizard feet".
In 1892, Marsh named a second species, C. annectens.
The search ended in November, 2012, when Marsh named Thomas R. O'Boyle Jr. as the company's new chairman, president and chief executive officer.
Marsh had previously named a specimen now attributed to I. dispar as Graculavus anceps.
But Marsh, later named the regional tournament's most valuable player, answered with a layup with 44 seconds left.
Marsh named the find Hesperornis regalis, or "regal western bird".
