"And the Bands Played On" is about the inaugural Monsters of Rock festival.

The last concert came in Nuremberg on 4 September, at the Monsters of Rock festival, after which the band members went their separate ways.

Tracks 6 and 9-14 recorded August 16, 1980 at the Monsters of Rock festival in Donington Park.

A world tour followed through 1984, including the Monsters of Rock festival.

The band broke up in 1992, their last show being at that year's Monsters of Rock festival.

The group released their debut album in 1992 (Brother), produced by John Custer before playing the Monsters of Rock festival the following year.
