From 1948 he commanded No. 11 Group before requesting retirement in 1950.
During the few years of its existence, No. 11/18 Group only had two air officers commanding.
The following officers had command of No. 13 Group:
Its first occupant was No. 1 Group that took up residence on 26 June 1941.
No. 31 Group (1 April 1939 to 13 November 1941)
This time No. 5 Group dropped 480 tons of high explosive and incendiaries on the centre of the city.
No. 8 Group, also known as the Pathfinder Force, was activated on 15 August 1942.
However, only two months later he was appointed AOC of No. 3 Group.
Then in 1982 he was made Air Officer Commanding No. 11 Group.
Burnett took up command of No. 29 Group in October 1921 but this was a short-lived appointment.
