During World War II, two operations in the Pacific theater were called Operation Coronet.

Regardless, the planned landing would have been dominated by US forces, and was known as Operation Coronet.

An early planning name for this operation was Operation Coronet.

The operation had two parts: Operation Olympic and Operation Coronet.

Airbases would be established, which would give cover for Operation Coronet, the attack on Tokyo Bay.

This area would then be used as a further staging point to attack Honshū in Operation Coronet.

Southern Kyūshū would offer a staging ground and a valuable airbase for Operation Coronet.

The game calls the campaign Operation Coronet, the planned invasion of Japan.
