In 1919 planning began to move slightly the balloon loop at Manly, requiring demolition and re-building the Pier Hotel.
At the inquest the Pier Hotel was found to be a driving hazard, and instead of being repaired it was ordered to be demolished.
At the entrance to the pier was the Pier Hotel, which catered for holidaymakers.
The girl said, "You're not taking Commander Towers to the Pier Hotel again?"
"He'd never make it back up the hill after another session in the Pier Hotel."
What about the Pier Hotel?
The second stage was construction of the Pier Hotel.
