The Pinwheel Galaxy (2002) is the third album from John & Mary.
Liner notes from John & Mary: The Pinwheel Galaxy.
The Pinwheel Galaxy was released in December 2002 and the duo began a ten date national tour to promote it.
The group is named after the brightest galaxy in the group, the Pinwheel Galaxy (M101).
Most of the other members of the group are companions of the Pinwheel Galaxy.
Van Maanen was a well-respected astronomer of the time who claimed he had observed the Pinwheel Galaxy rotating.
It later became apparent that van Maanen's observations were incorrect-one can not actually see the Pinwheel Galaxy rotate during a human lifespan.
It contains 16,000 by 12,000 pixels and shows the Pinwheel Galaxy (Messier 101).
M101, also called the Pinwheel Galaxy, is a face-on spiral galaxy located 25 million light-years from Earth.
The star, formerly a white dwarf, is located in Messier 101, the Pinwheel Galaxy, 21 million light years from Earth.
