Electronic gadgets and computers are taking over people's lives, says Mr. Henderson, owner, founder, editor and publisher of the Pushcart Press in Wainscott.
"My emotional reaction seemed to come out of nowhere," said Mr. Henderson, the founder of Pushcart Press.
In 1971, when he could not get his own first novel published, he founded Pushcart Press out of his home, launching a career in self-publishing.
The stories, which originally appeared in the small magazines, were reprinted in the Pushcart Press and "Best American Short Story" anthologies.
The Pushcart Press in Wainscott is another small fiction publisher.
