"Sally was just getting to that before you came in," Rod said quickly.

He seemed to be thinking about what Rod had said.

"You aren't going to like the answer," Rod said as they reached their floor.

"Let me think about it for a few days," Rod said.

"Yes, but there were two of us to sort that out," Rod said.

Rod settled back into his chair and said, "Now, do you have any questions?"

I remembered what Rod had said about the need for a power supply.

Rod said, carefully and clearly, "Let the record show there was no one."

Rod said, "I felt he was putting a target on his back."

"I'm sure it's a more pleasant subject than whatever he had in mind," Rod said quickly.
