Senator Bennett said he expects the bill to be passed by this Congress.
Senator Bennett enjoys telling stories about the old days.
"In the beginning, everybody was against a ban," said Senator Bennett.
But Senator Bennett said he was not dissuaded by such arguments.
"When the economy is doing well and people take it for granted," Senator Bennett said, "they look at other issues."
Senator Bennett, the sponsor of the bill that would require insurance companies to pay for extended treatment, is one of those people.
And, like Senator Bennett, he raised the issue of commercial use.
"I'm not sure that's necessarily a bad thing," said state Senator Bennett.
Afterward, Senator Bennett sounded tempered, if not completely won over.
It was, boy, aren't we fortunate we have Senator Bennett?
