St Giles Church is the oldest surviving building in the town having been built in about 1225 AD.

Water was taken at first from Bramhope's town well, opposite St Giles Church, but the excessive demand diminished the supply and spoiled the quality.

The town well was restored in 1991 by the Bramhope History Group, and is located opposite St Giles Church.

A copy of the Bielby histories may be purchased in St Giles Church (confirmed in 2001).
