In the 20th century many townships also added a township administrator or supervisor to the officers as an executive for the board.

At that same meeting the governing body established the position of Township Administrator.

He currently works in government there as a township administrator, having been appointed to the post in 2002.

Gene Dunworth, the township administrator, said the home he bought for $92,000 nine years ago could sell for $275,000 now.

"I don't think it was necessary," said the township administrator, Lynne Combs, a 23-year resident of the area.

The committee appoints the township administrator who is responsible for carrying out those policies and overseeing the day to day operations.

The trustees also elect a township administrator.
