He graduated from the University of Wrocław, the Department of Law.

In 1947 he received a law degree from the University of Wrocław.

During 1945-50 he studied physics at the University of Wrocław.

Since 1947 he was part of regular staff member at the University of Wrocław, in 1968 he became full professor.

From 1999 to 2002 he served as vice-rector of the University of Wrocław.

He later continued his studies at the University of Wrocław and in Berlin, Germany.

He graduated from the law faculty of the University of Wrocław.

Łaba earned a masters degree in 1986 from the University of Wrocław.

In 1996, he received an honorary doctorate of the University of Wrocław.
