The pair had auditioned 15 to 20 candidates, and after she performed their song "Voodoo Child", she became the band's front woman.

Many radio stations across the UK had started to play "Voodoo Child" six weeks before its release.

After its official release, "Voodoo Child" reached number three with sales of over 21,000.

Their second single, "Voodoo Child", went Platinum (70,000+ copies sold).

He then launched into a version of "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)".
