The airport started with a single runway; a second was added in the 1950s.

Several major airlines and many airports had already started using them.

However, on the first day of opening, the airport had already started to experience some technical difficulties.

However, after six months the airport started to operate normally.

The operation was stopped for some years but the airport has started operating again from late 2008.

The airport started with scheduled traffic on 1 October 1975.

Both airports will start operations in the later half of 2012.
