To protect and enhance the finish of polished marble, apply wax.

When the area is dry, sand it and apply wax.

If the treatment has worked, apply fresh wax.

Follow with a coat of wood cleaner, then apply a polish or wax.

Some players will also apply wax to the tape in order to increase the adhesion.

Then apply new wax to the area, as described further on.

Afterward, apply fresh wax if you have rubbed through to the finish.

If they have been very wet, it may be a good idea to wait a day before applying wax.
