Galway won the league, beating Clare by 3-12 to 3-10 in the final.

To regain the Munster title, Waterford were going to have to do it the hard way by beating Clare and Tipperary just to reach the final.

Tipperary won the league, beating Clare by 1-19 to 0-17 in the final.

Limerick won the league, beating Clare by 3-12 to 1-7 in the final.

Kilkenny won the league, beating Clare by 2-12 to 0-9 in the final.

In his first match as manager he beat Clare with a score of 2-14 to 0-16.

They were the beaten finalists of 1994 and had already beaten Clare, the reigning champions, in the Munster Championship.

The Semi final was a less competitive affair, Tipp beating Clare, who beat them the year previously.
