During their student years they discussed race and politics, especially the inadequacy of the black Republican leadership.

Jews, the author explains, had no difficulty in following black leadership.

"It must be demanded that black leadership stand up and respond to such things," he said.

A meaningful first step would be to reach out to the established black leadership.

It is also very positive that one of the major cities with black leadership will show America's complex face to the world.

"I think it's a major crisis in black leadership now."

It's been a very slow process for the black leadership in America to own up to this disease.

"Many have black leadership, and are not measuring up," he said.
