Two short inscriptions on the inside of the central archway say:

A central archway was added to support a roof and the north wall was strengthened with mortar.

A central archway gave access to a dark staircase.

The central archway is 4.72 meters (15 ft) wide.

And through the central archway jogged the Hobby-Horse, moving slowly.

Only the monarch is allowed to drive through its central archway, or those given a pass (formerly made of ivory).

Only the royal family was allowed to pass through the central archway, as well as members of the Pfuel family, from 1814 to 1919.

The lodge is two storeys high, with two circular towers either side of a central archway.

It features a central rounded archway, open porch, and tile roof.

The last tram to pass through the central archway did so on 4 June 1938.
