Emil P. Dolensek, chief veterinarian of the New York Zoological Society, died of a melanoma Wednesday at his home on City Island in the Bronx.
Dr. Adams has served as a Peace Corps veterinarian in Nigeria and chief veterinarian for the city's zoos and the Big Apple Circus.
"I've never seen anything like that," said the chief veterinarian, Dr. Theodore Hill.
