After working for three years in Prague, he became briefly court Kapellmeister in Bayreuth and Gera.

From 1800, Tepper held the post of the court Kapellmeister, after Giuseppe Sarti.

In 1649 Bertali succeeded Giovanni Valentini as court Kapellmeister.

He became Kantor at Königsberg cathedral in 1661, and court Kapellmeister from 1663 to 1679.
