Galloway led the way, keeping off the road and following a cow path along the stream.

"These roads were laid out 150 years ago, and there's no sense in repaving a cow path."

The property had once been a cow path with a well for farmers to water their cattle.

Roads were designed to follow the cow paths, for a natural, winding effect.

"The main roads are like cow paths, but they keep putting up these dense housing developments," he said.

They weren't blocks exactly, more like cow paths or maybe goat trails.

"That road would be in poorer condition than the cow path we took over the mountains."

He went along the state highway and turned onto the cow path.

The panel vehicle had backed onto a cow path as they sped by.

He wanted to know about every cow path.
