Telex said it expected to earn $1 a share for the second quarter, compared with $1.32 in the period last year.

Its exploration and production unit earned $78.6 million for the quarter, compared with $55.4 million a year ago.

Ford said it earned $338 million, or 60 cents a share, for the first quarter, compared with a loss of $884.4 million last year.

The company said it earned $1.8 billion, or 60 cents a share, for the third quarter, an increase of nearly 19 percent.

Excluding the effect of this reserve, the company would have earned $135 million, or 77 cents a share, for the quarter.

The bank earned $270 million for the quarter, an increase of 110 percent from the comparable period a year ago.
