This employee is the emergency coordinator responsible for coordinating all emergency response measures.

Jan Egeland, the United Nations' emergency coordinator, acknowledged the many obstacles but called the global response "phenomenal."

An emergency coordinator with the New York-based International Rescue Committee decided on a recent visit that the area was simply too dangerous.

"We are not thinking about food right now," said Jan Weuts, the group's emergency coordinator in Belgium.

"Each municipality is required to have an emergency coordinator, and of course we've been in touch with them."

"People's needs are very dynamic," said Atanu Chakraborty, the state's emergency coordinator in Bhachau.

Each locality is also supposed to have an emergency coordinator.

"By all measures, this outbreak is out of control," said Luis Encinas, an emergency coordinator for the group.

"You teach them how to use a hammer and saw and put out a fire," said the local emergency coordinator, Charles Rogers.

"The vast majority of people are well enough to make it on their own feet," said Mike McDonagh, the emergency coordinator for Concern, an Irish aid organization.
